NEW YORK, January 26, 2010 – Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu, a leading firm in the field of trademark, copyright, design and unfair competition law, announced today that it has elected Cara A. Boyle and Laura Popp-Rosenberg to the partnership, effective January 1, 2010. Both Ms. Boyle and Ms. Popp-Rosenberg joined the firm in 2004.
Cara A. Boyle is a member of the firm’s International Group. She counsels on trademark, copyright, and unfair competition matters across a range of industries, including fashion and apparel, consumer products, hotel services, entertainment, and beverage alcohol. Ms. Boyle’s practice includes worldwide clearance, registration, licensing, policing and enforcement of trademarks; negotiating and drafting assignment, coexistence and worldwide settlement agreements; and conducting due diligence on intellectual property-related aspects of corporate transactions.
Ms. Boyle is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Brands & Marketing Team of the MARQUES Association of European Trademark Owners.
Ms. Boyle is a graduate of the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Consumer Law Review. She received a B.A. in French and History from theUniversity ofVirginia.
Laura Popp-Rosenberg is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. She litigates copyright, trademark, unfair competition, false advertising and related commercial matters in U.S.federal, state and administrative courts. She also counsels and advises clients concerning intellectual property matters and negotiates trademark and copyright licenses, as well as coexistence and settlement agreements.
Ms. Popp-Rosenberg has represented clients in a diverse array of industries. For example, she has successfully enforced trademark rights in luxury goods, clothing, beauty products, food and beverages, hotels, performing artists and recording labels, among many others.
Ms. Popp-Rosenberg graduated from the Universityof North Carolinaat Chapel Hill(B.A., 1994) (with highest honors and highest distinction; Phi Beta Kappa) and earned her law degree from Columbia University School of Law (J.D., 2000) (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar). Before joining Fross Zelnick, Ms. Popp-Rosenberg completed a federal clerkship for the Honorable Alvin K. Hellerstein, District Judge, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co.
